Kate Henshaw claps back at Twitter troll over ‘flat yansh’ comment

Renowned Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has taken to Twitter (now X) to share a video of herself dancing joyfully in the gym with a colleague.

Her post, captioned “Energy never lies… No matter what, never lose your joy… Hold fast to it.. E get why.. Have a truly lovely day my authentic X family,” was met with support from her fans.

However, one comment from user Oluwabukola stood out, catching the attention of both Henshaw and her followers.

The comment, “Flat yansh. Aunty Kate, this your to match gym outfits ehnnn. Give me some now,” was perceived as a backhanded compliment and sparked a wave of reactions.

Supporters of Henshaw were quick to defend her, criticizing the comment as disrespectful.

One follower pointed out, “What a stupid, backhanded comment to post. Real women lift each other up, not pass backhanded compliments. For the record, a backhanded compliment is a comment that blurs the line between insult and compliment. Apologise to Kate and moving forward, think before you post.”

In response, Henshaw acknowledged the criticism, stating, “She knew what she did… I don’t need her apology… Thanks Elyzabeth.”

She further addressed the troll’s comment, saying, “Leave am abeg, make she carry her yansh dey go front mbok.”

The comment from Oluwabukola was eventually deleted, but not before Henshaw’s followers had made their voices heard.
