A woman was left heartbroken after receiving an eviction notice shortly after spending 4 million naira on renovating her flat in Ikeja, Lagos.

She shared a video showing how much effort she had put into transforming the apartment.

She explained that she had been living in a shared space and wanted her own place. Trusting the caretaker, who told her about an available flat in the same building, she sent him the money, thinking it was a good deal. However, when she finally got the keys, the apartment was in poor condition. Determined to make it livable, she spent millions on new tiles, plastering, and other repairs, costing around 4 million naira.

A few months later, she received an eviction notice, saying she had to vacate when her rent expired, for reasons that didn’t seem fair to her. When she reached out to the caretaker, he claimed he wasn’t responsible and said the notice came from a senior caretaker, leaving her feeling frustrated and abandoned.
