Ghanaian Man in the U.K Kills Mother, Seriously Injures Father and Sister in Stabbing Attack
A 22-year-old Ghanaian man in the U.K who has yet to be identified has been arrested after stabbing his mother, sister and father in a gruesome attack.
His mother, Alberta Obinim, 43, died in the attack at their home in Gorton, East Manchester. The incident occurred around 11.20 pm on Sunday, August 18th 2024.
The assailant’s father, a 63-year-old Ghanaian pastor in the U.K., and his sister, 17, are currently in critical condition in the Hospital.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) responded to the residence following the incident and arrested the young Ghanaian man.
The Ghanaian community in the UK is currently reeling from the incident.
Ibrahim Abu, a family friend, told the Manchester Evening News that Obinim was always a delight to be around.
He said: “She always talked to people and was a mother to everyone. She was always laughing.”
A colleague also told the paper: “She was a laugh, she was just funny. I would non-stop laugh with her. The people we used to care for loved her. It was non-stop laughing with her, she was amazing. The people we cared for really loved her. She’ll be missed.”
