Love Island presenter Maya Jama’s surprising new career move is revealed as she steps away from hosting duties for exciting role
Maya Jama has been revealed as the new judge on the Masked Singer UK after former star Rita Ora stepped down from the role earlier this year.
The Love Island host, 30, who will also still be hosting the All Stars version of the reality dating show, has snapped up the exciting judging gig.
Maya has joined the panel for the highly-anticipated new series of The Masked Singer alongside Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan.
Maya said: ‘I’m such a Masked Singer fan, so joining the panel alongside Davina, Jonathan, and Mo—and of course working with Joel—is going to be so much fun!
‘I can’t wait to figure out who’s underneath all those incredible costumes, vibe to their performances, and get front-row seats to the unmaskings.

Maya has been the host of Love Island since 2023, and her third series aired this summer.
Joel Dommett willing be returning as the host of the hit show, which first appeared on screens in 2020 and sees celebrities sing in disguise before the guessing begins.
Since then it has reached a staggering 37 million viewers who have tuned in to guess who is hiding behind the mask.
A fresh batch of famous faces will don a line-up of extraordinary and elaborate costumes, in a bid to disguise their identities, as they sing in front of a studio audience and our celebrity judging panel.
This year’s cast follow in the footsteps of an array of superstars including Dionne Warwick, NeYo, Richie Sambora, Michael Owen, Daisy May Cooper, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sue Perkins, Glenn Hoddle, Pat Cash, Lorraine Kelly, Jason Manford, Jake Shears, Sir Lenny Henry, Joss Stone and more.

Rita had been a judge on the hidden identity celebrity singing competition since 2020, but has now quit after five series.
The news of Rita’s departure may not come as a surprise to fans as the star was frequently replaced by guest judges due to her busy schedule, and sources claim her exit from The Masked Singer comes after landing a major movie role.
Earlier in the year, Rita headed across the pond to replace Nicole Scherzinger on The Masked Singer US.
This gave birth to a sweet moment where heavily pregnant winner Vanessa Hudgens explained that the show is why she ignored Rita’s requests to meet up.
