Joey Lawrence’s estranged wife, Samantha Cope, broke silence on her divorce from the actor in an emotional Instagram clip uploaded on Saturday.
The mother-of-one, 37, officially filed for divorce from the Melissa & Joey star, 48, on August 13 after two years of marriage, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and listed the date of separation as June 7, 2024.
He has since been accused of having an affair with actress, Melina Alves, during his marriage to Samantha – and reportedly ‘loved-bombed’ Alves while Cope ‘bawled her eyes out.’
Alongside a video montage, Samantha penned in the caption, ‘An amazing friend of mine recently told me “don’t be afraid of the tears. Let them flow.”‘
She added, ‘”Because every tear is God gently squeezing the pain and devastation from your heart to make room for new beautiful feelings to come in.”‘

Cope shared a variety of clips in the post as she spent time with her one-year-old daughter, Dylan Rose – whom she shares with Lawrence.
The star also shared candid snippets of herself crying while sitting outside and also inside a vehicle with her baby girl.
The reel then cut to Samantha flashing a big smile on her face as she twirled around with her daughter in her arms inside a spacious bedroom.
In conclusion, Cope could be seen standing next to a horse with a scenic landscape surrounding her, as well as other sweet moments shared with her little one.
Throughout the course of the video, a voiceover could be heard saying, ‘Look at you, look how far you’ve come.’

Earlier this week on Wednesday, it was revealed that Samantha had filed for divorce from Joey on August 13. She requested that both she and her estranged husband not receive any spousal support.

She cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split, and also asked for full custody of their daughter.
Cope stated in documents obtained by Us Weekly that she will allow Dylan to stay with Joey two nights a week when she turns three.
But in regards to Joey having extended visits with their daughter, Samantha stated that she wants to wait until Dylan is ‘older and can consent to such visits.’
Not long after she filed, Lawrence was accused of having an affair with his co-star and fellow actress, Melina Alves. The pair are set to appear in the upcoming film, Socked In For Christmas.
In documents obtained by TMZ, Melina’s estranged husband, Edward Rider – who filed for divorce in July – claimed that he discovered Alves and Lawrence were having an affair earlier this year in March.
The affair allegedly took place in California as well as ‘at various other times and places,’ Rider claimed.
A source recently told People that Joey ‘love-bombed’ Melina – which was something that he also did with Samantha.
‘Joey met Melina Alves on the set of their movie, where she was a producer,’ the insider explained. Melina is also the writer and took on the role of Addy in the upcoming holiday flick.
