Heidi Klum, 51, breaks silence on TOPLESS pictures from steamy beach kiss with husband Tom Kaulitz, 34 – and reveals why she has NO plans to cover up
Heidi Klum has defiantly brushed off anyone who condemned her wild topless romp in sunny St. Barts, insisting that her fashion choice was ‘no big deal.’
The 51-year-old supermodel — who has been branded a ‘cougar’ for the 17-year age gap between her and husband Tom Kaulitz, 34 — left little to the imagination as she soaked up the sun in nothing but a thong bikini bottom during their recent beach day.
The America’s Got Talent judge told DailyMail.com that she ‘grew up with a lot of nudity’ as she encouraged others to strip off on the beach.
‘It’s so funny how many people talk about that,’ she said of the reaction to her recent pictures. ‘[They] should try it sometime.’
The German supermodel then highlighted the fact she was in a place where nudity on the beach isn’t scandalous as she continued: ‘Even though I am American, I’m also very much European, so I grew up with a lot of nudity on the beach.

‘So for me, this would be no big deal. Plus I was on a French island, and if you look around, most girls are topless, so it’s just a very common thing.’
The Project Runway alum added: ‘So it’s not like I’m doing something weird… and I always go to a beach when there’s not a lot of people there. So I feel like I get into those things when no one is around.’
Heidi then noted that she learnt early on during her time in America that going topless in a US resort doesn’t go down well – even when it appears no-one else is around.
The Making The Cut star recalled: ‘I have definitely been in America and in resorts where I have taken my top off – this was many, many years ago – and people literally have come to me and said, “Ma’am, some of the people here are complaining, would you mind putting your top back on?”
‘And I’m like, “There’s no one here. Who is complaining?” I guess there must have been someone looking out the window somewhere.” But obviously I would put my top back on if I was asked.’
Heidi previously revealed why she’s unapologetic about sharing topless or nearly naked photos on social media.
Explaining that there’s a ‘strategy’ behind her love for showcasing her figure she told People magazine last year: ‘I’m super comfortable naked today. To the point where my kids are like, “Mom, I have a friend coming over.”
‘As soon as someone is coming, I put my top on. But if no one is there, suns out buns out.’

She continued: ‘I just don’t like tan lines because I wear so many different outfits. I don’t want to have straps anywhere from tan lines. It’s very strategic.’
‘When I do America’s Got Talent, most of the time I sit behind a desk, so it’s really from the waist up. So, I look for something that is of interest around here.’
‘And usually, I like to have Hans and Franz on a good display,’ she quipped while motioning at her breasts.
Heidi’s most recent trip to St. Barts was part of her five-year wedding anniversary celebrations with her husband.
The romance between the model and Tokio Hotel guitarist first caught public attention in March 2018, when they were seen sharing a passionate kiss while leaving a Lorraine Schwartz launch party arm-in-arm.

Their relationship quickly intensified, and by December 2018, Tom proposed.
The couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony just seven months later, before celebrating with a grand event in Capri, Italy, in August 2019.
Following their wedding, Tom embraced his role as a stepfather, joining Heidi in raising her children.
Heidi has a daughter, Leni, with former boyfriend Flavio Briatore, and sons Henry, 18, Johan, 17, and Lou, 14, with her ex-husband Seal, to whom she was married from 2005 to 2014.
During their marriage, he also adopted her daughter, Leni, now 20, when she was just five years old.
